Hyderabad: Pallavi International School, Gandipet organized a special assembly to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Home Minister, which is celebrated as Ekta Diwas. The session was also hosted virtually for the students online to be a part of the assembly. Students of classes VI to X participated in the assembly which was hosted by Spoorthi and Joshika. The assembly started with the National song followed by the school song and students also pledged to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the country.

Principal Meetali Archit enlightened the students with the history of how the princely States came together to form a united India. Students of class VI presented a speech on the Ekta Diwas and facts about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Rajashekar dressed as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and talked about his achievements.


Class VII students performed a dance that was themed on unity in diversity. Mahalakshmi of class VIII also presented a song in Telugu on Bharat Matha. Students of class VIII dressed themselves representing the cultures of Indian States and sang a song, highlighting need for staying together irrespective of the differences.

Class IX students presented a skit that showcased the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in uniting the princely States. It also showcased the key events prevailing in the nation after the Independence.

Spoorthi Kuppa and Rameesa Afrose recited the poems on Unity. Karthikeya of class VIII gave a detailed presentation on Homi Baba. Also, to promote the values of unity among students, competitions were conducted for students of classes III to IX on October 27. Students at different levels participated in elocution, poster making and poetry recitation under the theme of unity and its benefits.

Principal Meetali Archit distributed certificates to all the winners. The special assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
