World Oceans day is celebrated worldwide annually on June 8 to note the significance of oceans and to create awareness on human accountability towards oceans. The oceans cover over 70 per cent of the planet. It is our life source, supporting humanity’s sustenance and that of every other organism on Earth. Not to mention, the ocean is key to our economy with an estimated 40 million people being employed by ocean-based industries by 2030.
Pallavi Model School, Alwal celebrated World Oceans Day to raise awareness in the children to protect and preserve the oceans. The assembly commenced with an inspiring quote from Rahul of grade VIII, followed by a motivational speech Principal Sunir Nagi. Her speech unfolded many wonders about the ocean and induced responsibility in each one of the students to preserve oceans.
The videos by Purbhasha, Diya and Anjali of grade VIII rooted in true understanding of the ocean and how humanity relates to it. This assembly motivated us to build a connection to the ocean that is inclusive, innovative, and informed by lessons from the past. Wishing everyone a very Happy Oceans Day.
