Hyderabad: Pallavi Model School, Boduppal organised Bathukamma festival with festive fervour on the school campus. The festival was celebrated with great reverence and gratitude. After students started reporting to school, this is the first festival they celebrated in the offline mode. The students of class X reached school in their traditional attires filling that quintessential element of gaiety and festivities in the atmosphere.
Celebrating the festivals is a way to indirectly impart life skills to the students. The students brought different types of flowers and in teams decorated their Bathukammas. The element of excitement and reverence to nature could be felt everywhere. Students played Bathukamma along with their teachers in the special assembly that was conducted on this auspicious occasion.
Through Burra Katha, a traditional art form, the students revealed the story associated with Bathukamma, which is showing reverence to nature and expressing gratitude towards
the same.
The significance of the ‘Shami’ tree and the legend associated with ‘Vijaya Dashami ‘made the children realise how important it is to lead a life of righteousness and stand for what is right.
