Kothagudem: Lending a helping hand to the State government’s prestigious initiative of developing Palle Prakruthi Vanams in villages, Paloncha-based Nava Bharat Ventures Limited has developed a village park at Mala Banjar of Sujatha Nagar mandal in the district.
The Palle Prakruthi Vanam, spread over one acre land, was developed at a cost of Rs 6.5 lakh by Nava Bharat as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, said company vice president Y Srinivasa Murthy.
As many as 1,000 saplings of different varieties such as fruit-bearing and shade-providing plants have been planted in the park along with flower plants. A bore-well with submersible pump has also been set up in the park to ensure water supply to the plants, he informed.
A walking track with benches has also been laid in the part for the convenience of the locals. The park is also secured with link fencing to prevent stray dogs and other domestic animals from entering the park, Murthy told this newspaper on Friday, adding that once the plants grow up, the park will be a green asset to the village.
He described the idea of developing Palle Prakruthi Vanams in the villages as one of the best initiatives taken up by the State government. Hitherto, parks were seen only in towns and cities but with the government’s innovative thinking, villagers will be able to enjoy the luxury of a green lusk parks.
Murthy, further, said that the park was developed at the request of District Industries Centre general manager T Sitaram to help the Gram Panchayat of Mala Banjar which will take up the maintenance of the park.
