Panchayat secretary booked for crashing car into Bathukamma idol in Adilabad
Case registered against Panchayat Secretary Sultana Begum for negligent driving that led to the idol being hit, and scolding women; departmental inquiry also initiated into the incident
Adilabad: A Panchayat secretary was booked for allegedly crashing her car against an idol of Bathukamma and abusing women at Zamdapur village in Adilabad Rural mandal on Monday.
Police said that a case was registered against the Secretary, Sultana Begum, for negligent driving that led to the idol being hit, and scolding women, based on a complaint received from a resident. Investigation was taken up.
A departmental inquiry was also initiated into the incident. Stern action would be taken against those who insult festivals and religious affairs of a community, police warned.
