Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A panchayat secretary was suspended for allegedly flouting norms. An order to this effect was issued by Collector Haritha here on Sunday.

According to the order, the secretary, D Sumalatha of Bibra village, was placed under suspension for withdrawing Rs 1.02 lakh from the treasury without the approval of the local sarpanch and a resolution of the governing council of the local body.

She was also found to have violated norms in other payments made by her. Stern action would be taken against those who misuse public money, Haritha warned.
