After a question on Mahatma Gandhi is answered by the guests, Pratik goes on to enact a scene from ‘Mohan No Masalo’, a play on the Father of the Nation.
Hyderabad: Bollywood actors Pankaj Tripathi and Pratik Gandhi were this week’s guests on the special episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), and the duo was clearly moved by Amitabh Bachchan’s presence.
The Shandaar Shukravaar episode began with the actors telling Big B that they would like to return back home even before the game show began, but the host went backstage to get them to the podium.
Later in the episode, Pankaj admitted that he was nervous in the beginning but Amitabh’s warm presence helped him compose himself.
Throughout the show, Pankaj and Pratik recalled the initial stages of struggle in their acting career and how they happened to make a mark in the industry.
Pankaj spoke about his childhood in his village and how most families there wouldn’t even own a matchbox. He spoke about his farming days and working as a chef at a restaurant in Patna– Big B was pleasantly surprised.
On the other hand, Pratik recalled that he had to gain 18kgs for his hit show ‘Scam 1992’.
The Gujarat-born actor entertained the audience by asking Amitabh some silly questions. He asked the actor if he would leave the plastic cover on his new car, if he adds water to his shampoo bottle like middle-class people, and if he ever wipes his hands on his clothes after eating. To the last question, Big B admitted that there was a time when he would wipe his hands on his long beard!
After a question on Mahatma Gandhi is answered by the guests, Pratik goes on to enact a scene from ‘Mohan No Masalo’, a play on the Father of the Nation.
His performance, which included the time Gandhi was thrown away from a train in South Africa, received praises from everyone present. Pratik revealed that it is through his wife’s support that he made it this far in his life.
When Pankaj was asked on how he met his wife Mridula, who was present in the audience, the ‘Mimi’ actor replied that it was during a train journey! This left Mridula blushing. While the actor was in the upper berth, his future wife and mom-in-law were sleeping in the lower berth.
He was gawking at Mridula throughout the journey, which was even noticed by another co-passenger who told Pankaj that they would indeed make a good couple! Much to the surprise of everyone present, Pankaj said that he has 10 different stories on how he met his wife, and he would reveal the true story only in his autobiography.
Pankaj and Pratik delivered some dialogues in their native languages Bihari and Gujarati respectively, and fans were left impressed. The actors said that ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ was their favourite movie of Amitabh.
Several questions on the show were focused on Gujarat. Pratik and Pankaj won 12.5 lakhs on the game show and the proceeds will be donated to Pandit Benaras Tiwari Hemanvanti Devi Foundation and Mukul Trust.
