Hyderabad: Security personnel caught a passenger in possession of foreign currency valued at Rs 45.28 lakh at the RGIA on Thursday.

The passenger, who was scheduled to fly to Hong Kong, came under suspicion due to unusual behaviour during pre-boarding checks. Following this, the CISF personnel conducted a detailed screening of the individual’s hand baggage near the departure area.

During the inspection, officials uncovered USD 48,550, which is valued at approximately Rs 45.28 lakh, concealed in the baggage. The traveller was subsequently handed over to customs authorities for further investigation.

Officials are now examining the source of the money and whether any violations of foreign exchange regulations were involved.
