Pastor accused of conversions assaulted in Vanasthalipuram
The pastor, G Chandra Mouli, went to pray at one Jayamma's house, who is a believer in their church, when a group claiming as 'Hindu Dharma Protectors' came there and allegedly abused and assaulted him.
Hyderabad: Unidentified persons assaulted a pastor alleging he was supporting religious conversions at Vanasthalipuram here on Thursday late night.
The pastor, G Chandra Mouli, went to pray at one Jayamma’s house, who is a believer in their church, when a group claiming as ‘Hindu Dharma Protectors’ came there and allegedly abused and assaulted him.
They alleged he was supporting religious conversions and threatened him.
Based on a complaint, the Vanasthalipuram police booked a case against the group and have taken up investigation.
Meanwhile, mild tension prevailed at the police station on Friday morning with several activists from BJP, RSS and other groups staging a protest, accusing the police of being quiet on religious conversions and booking cases on those protesting against it.
