Hyderabad: A car driver who was admitted at ESI hospital for fever, leapt to death from the third floor of the building on Thursday, the police said.
G Shekhar (40), a resident of Qutbullapur was admitted at the hospital on Saturday after he complained of fever and body aches, and hospital staff had collected blood samples and sent for investigations.
On Thursday afternoon, G Shekhar who was admitted in a ward on the fourth floor of the hospital building came down to the third floor. “After breaking the window panes using a stone, he came into the balcony and jumped down from the building,” said Anjaneyulu, sub inspector SR Nagar.
Shekhar’s father who was along with him had left to have tea on the ground floor minutes before Shekhar sneaked out of his ward.
The incident was captured on the surveillance cameras installed in the hospital building. In the videos, Shekhar can be seen walking towards the balcony and breaking the glass panes using a stone before jumping from the building.
On information the S R Nagar police reached the spot and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem and registered a case.
