Andhra Pradesh: Dy CM and hero Pawan Kalyan addresses press conference ahead of release of Hari Hara Veera Mallu in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Ahead of the release of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan made a rare appearance at a press meet in Hyderabad on Monday. Known for staying away from film promotions, Pawan said he came to the event only for producer A M Ratnam, calling him the main reason behind his decision to speak to the media.
“This is my first press meet for a movie. I usually don’t attend such events, not out of pride, but because I don’t know how to promote myself,” Pawan shared. “But I wanted to stand by A M Ratnam garu. He believed in this film even when there were so many delays and problems. He never complained, and I’m here today to show my support.”
The film faced several roadblocks over the years. It was delayed due to the pandemic, financial issues, and changes in the team. At one point, director Krish had to step away due to personal reasons, and Jyothi Krishna took over the project.
Pawan said, “We went through two COVID waves, creative differences, and budget troubles. But I stayed in the project because I wanted to support the people who trusted me.”
He added that the climax alone took 57 days to shoot in extreme summer conditions. “All the martial arts I had learned helped me in this film,” he said.
Although Krish stepped away, Pawan thanked director Krish for starting the project and appreciated Jyothi Krishna for completing it with care and patience.
Actress Nidhhi Agerwal thanked the team and said acting with Pawan Kalyan was a big moment in her career. “I’ll always be grateful to A M Ratnam garu and the team for their support,” she said.
Cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa, who joined midway through the shoot, spoke about the scale of the film. “The second half has a lot of emotional weight. It’s a travel-based story, almost like an adventure. Pawan sir gave his full effort,” he noted.
Lyricist Rambabu said writing a song for Pawan Kalyan in Keeravani’s music was a proud moment. “Keeravani garu’s tunes made the lyrics even more special,” he said.
Director Jyothi Krishna recalled a recent moment when they worked for over 12 hours to finish the final mix of a 20-minute fight sequence. “That fight scene was designed by Pawan sir himself. It tells a story and shows the battle for dharma,” he explained.
Pawan Kalyan also reflected on the importance of cinema. “We may have differences in society, but cinema unites everyone. It gave me everything, and I’ll always respect it,” he said. He praised co-star Bobby Deol, who plays Aurangzeb, saying, “Bobby gave his best. It was a pleasure working with him.”
Hari Hara Veera Mallu, a fictional period drama set in the 17th century, is finally ready to release on July 24
