Jogulamba Gadwal: After desisting from celebrating festivals, villagers of Pedda Dhanwada on Friday boycotted the ‘Revenue Sadassu’ (meeting), demanding that the State government withdraw the plans of establishing ethanol plant on village fringes.

The villagers informed revenue officials that they had decided to boycott Bhu Bharathi Sadassu being conducted by the department.

They demanded that the officials withdraw all the cases booked against farmers immediately. The farmers insisted that the government should make a clear announcement over withdrawing the plans to establish the ethanol plant.

The Bhu Bharathi sadassu should be held only after clearing the cases against the farmers and scrapping the ethanol plant, the farmers said according to reports. In this regard, they also submitted a representation to the officials.
