Peddapalli: A 17-year-old girl who was forced to consume pesticide by a person, also sustained a head injury when her father tried to attack the accused with a stick at Khanapur in Manthani mandal on Monday afternoon.

According to police, Manthani Sathish of Khanapur was forcing the girl to consume pesticide when the victim’s father Eluvaka Odelu returned home from the agriculture field.

Shocked by what he saw, Odelu tried to attack Sathish with a stick, which unfortunately hit the girl on the head even as Sathish escaped from the attack.

Odelu immediately shifted his daughter to Manthani hospital from where she was shifted to Karimnagar district headquarters hospital after her condition turned serious.

Based on Odelu’s complaint, police registered a case and began investigations.
