Peddapalli: Teenager drowns in SRSP canal while rescuing sheep
A 19-year-old student of Chandapalli village in Peddapalli district, drowned in the SRSP D-83 canal while attempting to rescue sheep that had fallen into the water. The second-year student at Peddapalli ITI College, was washed away as he did not know how to swim.
Peddapalli: A teenager who went missing in the SRSP canal was found dead near Peddapalli on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Syed Sahad (19), a native of Chandapalli village in Peddapalli district. He was studying second year at Peddapalli ITI College.
According to police, Sahad had taken sheep for grazing near the SRSP D-83 canal on Friday. A few sheep accidentally fell into the canal, following which he entered the water in an attempt to rescue them. In the process, he was washed away as he did not know how to swim.
Police and Fire Services department personnel launched a search operation and traced the body near the power house on Saturday.
Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s father, Khadar, police registered a case and took up investigation.
