Peddapalli: Woman jumps into river Godavari, saved by police
A native of eight incline colony, Punnam Midhuna jumped into the river from the bridge allegedly due to some family disputes.

Peddapalli: A 33 year-old woman who jumped into river Godavari apparently to end her life, was saved by policemen and adventure sports activists near Godavari Bridge on the outskirts of Godavarikhani town on Sunday.
A native of eight incline colony, Punnam Midhuna jumped into the river from the bridge allegedly due to some family disputes. However, patrol policemen J Srinivas and Aqua Tourism members Goliwada Prasanna Kumar and Gaddam Venkatesh used a boat to reach the woman who was almost drowning and rescued her.
Later, she was shifted to Godavarikhani area hospital where she is undergoing treatment. Investigation is in progress.
In another incident, a woman, who tried to kill herself by jumping into a village tank at Venkepalli of Saidapur mandal on Saturday evening, was rescued by the patrolmen with their timely action.
Shivaratri Padma, who had been suffering from health problems, jumped into the tank to end her life. Blue Colt police constable Parthasaradhi and home guard Suresh, who were patrolling the area, jumped into the tank and rescued her. Later, the police handed over her to her family members.
