Peddapalli’s Taniparthi Chikitha wins gold at World Archery Youth Championship
Taniparthi Chikitha from Peddapalli won gold in the compound individual category at the Winnipeg 2025 World Archery Youth Championship, becoming the first Indian female compound archer to claim the junior world title. Her achievement has brought pride to Telangana.

Peddapalli: Archery player Taniparthi Chikitha from Peddapalli district created history by winning a gold medal at the international level.
She clinched the medal in the compound individual category at the Winnipeg 2025 World Archery Youth Championship, being held in Canada from August 19 to 26.
In the final on Saturday night, Chikitha defeated Park Yerin with a score of 142-136 to capture the individual junior world title. With this victory, she became the first Indian female compound archer to win the junior world title.
Her family and relatives expressed happiness over her achievement at the international level.
A resident of Sultanpur in Eligedu mandal, Chikitha has already won several medals at national and international events.
