Hyderabad: Telangana BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar here on Wednesday said the people were seeing the party as an alternative in the State and their active participation in the recently concluded first phase of ‘Praja Sangrama Yatra’ was a classic example to it.
Speaking during the training for trainers programme organised by the party virtually at the State office here, he said the people would teach a fitting lesson to the rulers for indulging in undemocratic policies and it was proven in the undivided Andhra Pradesh.
It was the BJP, which fought against the former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi during the emergency. After Indira Gandhi’s death, her son Rajiv Gandhi became the Prime Minister. During his tenure, corruption was rampant. “There is no corruption in the country after the BJP came to power in the country,” he said. “It is the responsibility of the party leaders and activists to fight on behalf of the problems being faced by the people, who now strongly believe that the BJP can only render justice to them and at the same time more development can be expected if the party comes to power,” he said.
For BJP, leaders are not important but the ideology and party goals and policies are crucial. “We have the leaders who continued to work hard for the party in spite of getting warnings from Maoists. The party has reached the stage of coming to power in the State in the next elections because of these leaders,” he said, clarifying that the BJP was not against any religion. Meanwhile, former MLA Ravindra Naik demanded the State government to issue pattas to the tribals, who do cultivation in podu lands.
