PG students allege harassment by mess-in-charge at Women’s University hostel

Postgraduate students at Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University alleged harassment by their hostel mess in-charge at Osmania University Girls’ Hostel. They filed a complaint with Hyderabad She Teams, demanding legal action and immediate measures to ensure safety.

Hyderabad: A complaint filed with the Hyderabad She Teams by postgraduate students of Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University has triggered concern, with the students alleging harassment by a hostel mess-in-charge.

The PG students, pursuing their studies at the women’s university, have been provided accommodation at the Osmania University Girls’ Hostel.


In their complaint, submitted online on Sunday, the students accused the hostel’s mess-in-charge, identified as M Vinod, of repeatedly harassing them. They also shared audio recordings narrating their ordeal.

The students alleged that his behaviour has created a climate of fear in the hostel, making them feel unsafe and insecure. They claimed that several students have suffered mental stress due to the alleged harassment.

According to the students, they had earlier approached the hostel warden and the college principal to report the issue, but no action was taken. As the situation continued, they decided to seek help from the She Teams.

The students demanded strict legal action against the mess-in-charge and called for immediate steps to ensure their safety.

The police complaint is being examined and further action will be taken based on the findings.
