Hyderabad: Manohar, an African lion at the Nehru Zoological Park, was adopted by a Miyapur-based company, Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services Limited for a period of one year. The representatives of the company presented the zoo authorities with a cheque for Rs 1 lakh towards the adoption and maintenance charges of the African lion.

Speaking on the occasion, S Rajashekar, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, thanked Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services Limited, for coming forward to adopt the animal.


Last year the company had adopted a Royal Bengal Tiger for a period of one year, a press release said.

The representatives of the company also went around the zoo and appreciated the well maintained and clean premises.
