Hyderabad: Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Aldas Janaiah called for collective effort to make the university one of the top 10 agricultural universities in the country.
Addressing students and employees on the university campus here on Thursday, Prof. Janaiah urged them to work together to elevate the university’s national ranking. Currently, the PJTAU ranked 37th, the goal was to reach the top ten within the next three years, he said.
Vacant university officers positions would be filled by January, he said, adding vacant teaching positions would be recruited in accordance with government policies.
Special quota seats were increased, and fees reduced by 50 per cent for agricultural courses, the VC said and warned private institutions offering agricultural courses without requisite permissions and recognition by various statutory bodies. The PJTAU VC announced plans to celebrate the university’s diamond jubilee soon.
