PM and President lead condolences for victims of Kurnool bus fire

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the Kurnool bus fire and announced ₹2 lakh ex-gratia to each victim’s family. President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President Radhakrishnan, and CMs Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy also expressed condolences over the tragedy.

Hyderabad: Expressing grief at the horrific bus fire accident at Kurnool in the early hours of Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased.

“Extremely saddened by the loss of lives due to a mishap in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. My thoughts are with the affected people and their families during this difficult time. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. An ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given ₹50,000,” the PM posted on X.

Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu posted on X: “The loss of lives in a tragic bus fire accident in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh is deeply unfortunate. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.”

The Vice-President of India, C.P. Radhakrishnan, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also expressed similar sentiments of shock and offered support to the families.

Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock at the unfortunate development. “I am shocked to learn about the devastating bus fire accident near Chinna Tekur village in Kurnool district. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of those who have lost their loved ones. Government authorities will extend all possible support to the injured and affected families”.

Expressing shock at the development, Chief Minister, Telangana, A Revanth Reddy said he was deeply shocked at the development. The Chief Minister on X informed that he has directed senior officials from Telangana to coordinate with their counterparts in Andhra Pradesh in extending relief works.

BRS working president, K T Rama Rao also extended his condolences over the Kurnool fire incident and said, “The tragic accident of a private travel bus going from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, in which more than 20 people died, is deeply shocking. I pray for the peace of the souls of the deceased. I extend my deepest condolences to their family members.”
