PM SVANidhi loan mela held for street vendors in Mancherial

A total of 11,200 street vendors were extended loans out of the total 13,200 vendors applied for the loan in seven urban local bodies across the district under the scheme till date

Mancherial: Various banks and Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) jointly organised a mela for disbursing loans to the eligible street vendors under PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) on the premises of Mancherial Municipality here on Saturday. Lead Bank Manager Haveli Raju and State Bank of India’s Regional Manager Ramulu were the chief guests.

Haveli Raju said that a total of 11,200 street vendors were extended loans out of the total 13,200 vendors applied for the loan in seven urban local bodies across the district under the scheme till date. As many as 17,500 vendors applied for the loan of Rs 10,000 each in the district. A total of 200 vendors were given loans in Mancherial town during the camp.


The Lead Bank Manager further said that 3,492 vendors belonging to Mancherial municipality applied for the loan so far and of them, 3,000 vendors were sanctioned loans. He stated that the camp was aimed at covering the remaining applicants. He added that similar camps were simultaneously held in Bellampalli, Mandamarri, Luxettipet, Naspur, Chennur and Kyathanpalli civic bodies.

Raju informed that a total of 950 vendors dropped applications in the six municipalities seeking loans at the camps on a single day. The funds would be credited to the accounts by a week. Those who would like to avail could approach local bank managers. Ramulu suggested the vendors repay the loans on time and to get loans for the growth of their businesses. MEPMA District Mission Coordinator Raju and Srinidhi Loans district manager Srinivas were present.
