Students of Grade IX Pallavi Model School, Bowenpally brought out the significance of World Energy Conservation Day by presenting an informative assembly. World Energy Conservation Day is celebrated on December 14 globally to highlight the importance of energy consumption, its use in our day-to-day life, its scarcity and its impact on the sustainability of global ecosystems.
Students at the assembly noted that energy use is a major source of global warming, which has the potential of making the earth uninhabitable. We are all aware of the threatening fact that reserves of all conventional forms of energy are fast depleting.
Every day the human population across the world uses energy for leading a civilized life. These resources are a critical input of human development, speakers noted. Students explained that it is vital to create awareness among the youth regarding the need for energy conservation, efficient use and frugality in the usage of energy.
