Hyderabad: The Kachiguda police arrested a mobile phone thief involved in about half-a-dozen cases here on Friday.
The arrested person is Mohd.Sadiq (35), a construction worker from Pasha Colony in Rein Bazaar. Police said Sadiq, targeted people, mostly women, in crowded places or walking alone. On February 18, he targeted a woman from Barkatpura, who got off an auto-rickshaw near Hotel Tourist Plaza, and snatched her mobile phone worth Rs.40,000.
By the time she realized what happened, Sadiq escaped from the spot. Based on a complaint, the Kachiguda police booked a case and with the help of the CCTV footage collected from the crime spot, Sadiq was identified and nabbed.
