Police arrests close aide of wanted criminal B Prabhakar in Hyderabad
According to police sources, Prabhakar was using Ranjith's bank accounts for all fraudulent transactions and depositing money from thefts and criminal activities
Hyderabad: The Gachibowli police have arrested Ranjith, a software engineer and close friend of the most wanted criminal B Prabhakar, the suspect in the Prism Pub firing case on Thursday.
As per available information, he is being questioned after it was revealed that Ranjith was the one who dropped Prabhakar in his car at the pub on February 1, the day of the incident.
The investigation officials have found that Ranjith has been closely associated with Prabhakar since 2023 and has good knowledge of his criminal activities.
During the investigation, it was also revealed that Prabhakar was living in the house rented by Ranjith and continued his illegal activities for the last few years.
According to police sources, it was also found that Prabhakar has used Ranjith’s bank accounts for all the fraudulent transactions and depositing money from thefts and his criminal activities. He had been doing it clandestinely for the last two years, without anyone suspecting it.
Meanwhile, the police are investigating if Ranjith was directly involved in the thefts and other criminal activities related to Prabhakar. Moreover, the question of who helped or procured the country made pistols for Prabhakar from Bihar also needs to be answered.
Gachibowli police are investigating.
Venkat Reddy, a police head constable from Madhapur CCS team was injured after Prabhakar opened fire on the police team which came to nab him at the pub located in the Financial District in Gachibowli.
