Telangana: Police to file petition seeking custody of notorious burglar Bathula Prabhakar
Prabhakar is involved in over 100 cases in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: The Gachibowli police will be filing a petition in court seeking custody of Bathula Prabhakar, the notorious burglar who was arrested on Sunday.
Prabhakar was involved in over 100 cases in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He was caught by the Cyberabad police on Saturday near Prism Bar on specific information. However, when the police tried to overpower him, the man opened fire with a country-made firearm injuring a head constable and two civilians.
The police had seized three country-made weapons and 480 bullets from him. Prabhakar told the police he bought the weapons from Bihar to settle scores of some persons in Visakhapatnam.
The police during their investigation found that Prabhakar, was involved in around 20 cases in the two Telugu State after his escape from police custody in 2023 April in AP.
He had spent the money he got after committing burglaries to lead a lavish lifestyle. He had a penchant for luxury cars and had purchased several high-end cars with the money he obtained after committing burglaries at colleges, particularly engineering colleges. He also spent huge money in pubs.
