Police asked to coordinate with other depts for peaceful Ganesh immersion in Nirmal
He convened a review meeting with police officials over security arrangements to be made in view of immersion of Ganesh idols in communally sensitive Bhainsa and Nirmal towns
Nirmal: Multi Zone Inspector General of Police S Chandrashekhar Reddy instructed police officials to work in tandem with other departments and to have a prior action plan allowing the public to celebrate immersion of Ganesh idols peacefully.
He convened a review meeting with police officials over security arrangements to be made in view of immersion of Ganesh idols in communally sensitive Bhainsa and Nirmal towns, here on Saturday.
Reddy found out whether sufficient CCTV cameras were installed at important junctions to keep a watch on the trouble makers during the immersion. He asked them not to allow devotees to immerse the idols using loud music, laser lamps and in the inebriated condition.
He wanted them to avoid inconvenience to the general public at the time of the ritual.
Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila said that immersion would be held under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. She stated that the cameras would function with the help of solar power, while the cameras were connected to a police command control centre.
She added that fool-proof security arrangements were in place to organize immersion in a peaceful weather.
