Hyderabad: The Madhapur police registered a case against Srinivas who had excavated earth to construct a cellar and lay foundation for a building that eventually led to the tilting of an adjoining building at Siddiqnagar on Tuesday evening.

“Srinivas had not obtained any permission from the authorities concerned and started the construction works for his building. Due to the excavation of earth unscientifically, an adjacent building tilted endangering the lives of the occupants,” said Madhapur Inspector, D Krishna Mohan.

The police invoked Section 125 and 324 of BNS against Srinivas and are investigating. The case was registered based on a complaint made by town planning officials of GHMC.

Meanwhile, the GHMC completed the demolition of the building late in the night. Teams equipped with tipper trucks are clearing the debris.
