Karimnagar: Police foiled an attempt by ASHA workers to lay siege to the residence of Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar here on Friday. ASHA workers, who have been agitating over their demands, had decided to lay siege to the Minister’s house at Mankammathota.

When they were proceeding towards the Minister’s residence from Telangana Chowk, police intercepted them midway. A jostle broke out between the police and the agitating women when the latter attempted to move towards Prabhakar’s residence.

Police shifted them to a police station, forcefully boarding them into a police vehicle.
