Hyderabad: A local court in the city allowed three-day police custody of socialite turned Tollywood producer T Shilpa Chowdary in connection with the multi-crore fraud case here on Thursday.
The court had earlier allowed two-day custody of Chowdary, following which the Narsingi police questioned Chowdary last Friday and Saturday. With more links to be verified and more information to be extracted, the investigation officials had filed a petition seeking her custody again. The court examined the petition and allowed her police custody starting from Friday.
Earlier, officials questioned Chowdary on the details of her transactions, victims and assets. Sources said though preliminary investigation so far indicated that she cheated people to the tune of nearly Rs.12 crore, officials suspect that the amount and number of victims could be more.
The couple was arrested following cases booked against them on charges of cheating people on the pretext of investment in real estate.
