Police intensify search for suspect in senior advocate Khaja Moizuddin murder case
Police are intensifying the search for suspect Kishan Singh in the murder of senior advocate Khaja Moizuddin in Hyderabad. The car used in the crime has been recovered, and investigators are probing a suspected contract killing linked to a land dispute.
Hyderabad: The city police have intensified the search for the prime suspect, Kishan Singh, in the murder case of senior advocate Khaja Moizuddin (63).
It is learnt that his movements were traced at different places across Maharashtra, including in Shirdi, Aurangabad and Manwath. Special teams are now thoroughly searching those locations.
In an important development, police recovered the car allegedly used in the murder near Ibrahimpatnam on the suburb on Wednesday night. Officials, while examining the surveillance camera footage from the crime scene route, found that the vehicle had been abandoned there and seized it.
Moizuddin, a resident of Shantinagar in Red Hills, was allegedly killed on May 23 after assailants in a pre-planned murder rammed a car into him near his residence. Investigation revealed an alleged conspiracy linked to a long-standing dispute over Waqf lands.
According to sources, a leader from Congress party and an educational institutions operator allegedly pressured the victim over a land dispute. Police now suspect that the main conspirators hired Kishan Singh through middlemen to eliminate the advocate.
The suspect allegedly planned the murder as a staged road accident and involved his associates in executing it.
Police are reportedly questioning the Congress leader in custody to gather more details about the conspiracy and financial transactions linked to the contract killing.
