Sangareddy: The Sangareddy police nabbed a thief who decamped with Rs 10 lakh from a hotel’s guesthouse near Sangareddy town and recovered Rs 5 lakh from him on Saturday.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, DSP A Balaji said the management of Zam Zam dhaba had filed a case in Sanagreddy Rural police station complaining that some burglars had decamped with Rs 10 lakh kept in the hotel’s guestroom behind the hotel. The accused broke opened the doors of the room on April 19 night. After going through the CCTV footage, the police led by Inspector S Shivalingam identified the accused as Zakran Jaheed Qureshi (21), a native of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. Qureshi used to work as a barber, and the police had tracked his movements before nabbing him at Lingampally on Saturday.
The DSP appreciated Inspector Shivalingam, Sub-Inspector K Subhash, and their team members for cracking the case within a month. He said Qureshi had spent the remaining amount. The accused was produced before court which remanded him to judicial custody.
