Police officer dies in road accident in Peddapalli

According to police, ASI Bhagya's daughter was driving the vehicle, Bhagya sat on the pillion. When they reached the Khaman area, a speeding lorry coming from the back side hit their vehicle.

Peddapalli: Kamanpur ASI Bhagya died in a road accident that took place in Peddapalli town on Thursday morning.

According to police, Bhagya along with her daughter was going towards the bus stand from her residence in Peddapalli on a two wheeler.While her daughter was driving the vehicle, Bhagya sat on the pillion. When they reached the Khaman area, a speeding lorry coming from the back side hit their vehicle. Subsequently, the victim fell on the road and died. The body of Bhagya was crushed beyond recognition as lorry ran over her.

Her daughter escaped with minor injuries. The driver of Gujarat-bound lorry fled from the spot after incident.

Knowing about the incident, Peddapalli CI Pradeep Kumar and SI Rajesh visited the spot and began investigation by registering the case. the body was shifted to Peddapalli government hospital for postmortem.

A native of Kalwasrirampur mandal, Bhagya earlier worked in Peddapalli, Julapalli, Basanthanagar and Sultanabad police stations.
