Police rescue kidnapped minor girl, nab accused in Telangana’s Karimnagar
Karna Kanti from Thirumalapur allegedly kidnapped a 16-year-old girl from Padmanagar with the intention of forcibly marrying her
Karimnagar: The Karimnagar Police cracked a minor girl’s kidnap case within 24 hours and rescued her apart from arresting four accused persons.
According to police, Karna Kanti alias Karna Naresh from Thirumalapur of Ramadugu mandal on Tuesday allegedly kidnapped a 16-year-old girl from Padmanagar of Karimnagar town.
With the intention of forcibly marrying her, the accused lured her to board a car and took her to an isolated place, police said.
Based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents, Two Town police traced the accused within 24 hours by utilising technology.
Besides Naresh, Banala Sravan from Veldi of Manakondur mandal, Gourarapu Kalyani from Kasamgode of Nalgonda district and Karne Sumalatha from Modugulagudem of Jammikunta mandal were arrested.
The accused were booked under section 87 r/w 49, 75 BNS & section 12 of POCSO Act 2012 and produced in the court on Wednesday. The girl was handed over to her parents.
