Police seized 108 motorbikes, five auto-rickshaws and a four-wheeler during a community contact programme in Gudihathnoor mandal on Saturday. The vehicles were seized after owners failed to produce registration and ownership documents during the early-morning drive.

Adilabad: Police seized 108 motorbikes, five auto-rickshaws and a four-wheeler during a community contact programme held at Gudihathnoor mandal centre early on Saturday morning.
In a statement, Special Branch DSP P Srinivas said the two-wheelers, auto-rickshaws and the four-wheeler were seized from residents who failed to produce certificates of registration and relevant ownership documents during the drive conducted between 5 am and 9 am. The programme was carried out by 70 policemen.
Police asked people to strictly follow road safety rules and urged them to stay away from the consumption of ganja and other narcotic substances. They advised residents to refrain from engaging in any anti-social activities and requested them to install CCTV cameras. Police also cautioned people against indulging in eve-teasing and harassment of women, while creating awareness among locals on cybercrimes.
Inspectors Anjamma and Bandari Raju, Sub-Inspectors Imran and Puja, along with constables, took part in the programme.
