Karimnagar: A three-day police sports and games meet started in police parade grounds here on Saturday. Collector K Shashanka along with Commissioner of Police, VB Kamalasan Reddy inaugurated the sports meet wherein police officers of different cadres participated.

Speaking on the occasion, Collector said that sports would help to maintain mental and physical health, and advised police officials to encourage talented police personnel. Cops, who got jobs under sports quota, should not stay away from spots on the pretext of various reasons. Irrespective of their positions, cops of all cadres should give priority to maintain physical fitness, the Collector urged.

Kamalasan Reddy emphasised the need to give priority for physical fitness. Besides mental and physical fitness, sports would help to develop sportiveness among the people.

Sportspersons should always search for a platform to display their talent, he said and wanted police personnel to take part in state and national level events.

Additional DCPs S Srinivas (law and order), and G Chandramohan (administration), police training college principal V Sunitha Mohan and others participated in the sports meet inaugural function.
