Karimnagar: The Karimnagar police on Monday traced and arrested a person whose photos which showed him with a ‘weapon’ went viral creating a sensation sometime ago. Later, it was discovered that he only posed with a toy pistol. The toy pistol was seized from his possession.
The person was identified as Gaddam Krishna (32) alias Rudraksha of Godamgadda in Karimnagar town. Since Krishna was in home isolation as he tested positive for Covid, police recovered a toy pistol and a case was registered with two town police.
Speaking to the reporters in Karimnagar on Monday, Additional DCP (Law and Order) S Srinivas said Krishna took photos by holding a toy pistol and uploaded them on social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp.
With the photos of Krishna going viral on social media, they began an investigation and traced his details . Stating that social media was a double-edged knife, the Additional DCP said people should use it carefully and not to get panicked by watching wrong posts uploaded on it. He warned of serious action if anybody tried to create law and order problems by posting wrong posts on social media.
