Hyderabad: Post lockdown, the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) have resumed operations in the State. Earlier, the services were suspended due to Covid pandemic.
The Passport Seva Kendra services were re-launched at 10 Post Offices in Hyderabad Region on June 10 this year. Now, the passport services have been resumed in Telangana circle in 14 Head Post Offices, including Hanamkonda HO, Khammam HO, Nalgonda HO, Mahabubnagar HO, Mancherial HO, Kamareddy HO, Mahabubabad HO, Wanaparthy HO, Bhongir HO, Adilabad HO, Siddipet HO, Medak HO, Vikarabad HO and Medchal SO.
During the year 2020-21, as many as 41,921 persons utilised the POPSKs for new Passports, renewal of passports and other modifications in passports, said Assistant Director, Hyderabad Region in a statement issued here on Saturday.
POPSKs are useful of people, especially students in rural areas and job aspirants to attend to verification of documents locally without spending valuable time and money.
Any person who wants to avail POPSK services has to book online slot in the Passport Seva website or Mobile App. As per the slot, the person concerned has to approach the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra along with all the required documents duly following Covid-19 guidelines.
