Sangareddy: The management of Sigachi Chloro Chemicals Limited said that they were expecting preliminary investigation findings within a week on the cause of explosion at the industry.
The management issued a statement on Thursday saying that the investigation was underway by an expert committee constituted by the government of Telangana.
The management, which released a second statement in the last two days, however, corrected the number of deaths to 38 from earlier stated 40 due to the explosion. The report says 12 out of 33 injured were discharged from different hospitals for whom the management has given Rs 1 lakh as interim relief.
However, it had failed to release the names of the persons of those who were discharged. The management said it will stand by their earlier statement that the explosion was not caused by the reactor blast.
