President Murmu’s south sojourn from December 17 to 21

Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari instructed officials to work in coordination and make elaborate arrangements to ensure that the President’s visit was handled effectively.

Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu will be staying in Hyderabad from December 17 to 21 as part of the President’s annual sojourn to the city.

Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari held a meeting with senior officials here on Tuesday on the visit of the President. She instructed the officials to work in coordination and make elaborate arrangements to ensure that the President’s visit was handled effectively.

Forest officials were directed to depute snake catchers at the Rashtrapati Nilayam and complete the task of snake catching well in advance. A snake catching team should be stationed round the clock in the Nilayam, she said.

Similarly, special teams should be deputed to deal with monkey menace in and around the RP Nilayam in coordination with GHMC. Likewise the GHMC was directed to ensure that bee-hive catching was done well in advance.

Police department should make adequate security arrangements and a proper traffic plan. The fire department should make adequate firefighting arrangements and fire tenders should be deployed at all the venues along with requisite staff.

The R&B department was instructed to make necessary barricading and other arrangements and take up road repairs in coordination with GHMC and the traffic police department. The MAUD department was directed to ensure cleanliness of the surroundings of the place of stay of the President. The energy department was told to ensure uninterrupted power supply at all the venues.
