Prof. T. P. Radhakrishnan of UoH selected for the Prestigious DAE-Raja Ramanna Chair

Prof. T.P. Radhakrishnan of the University of Hyderabad has been selected for the prestigious DAE–Raja Ramanna Chair, a three-year national programme recognising distinguished contributions to research in chemistry, materials science and related advanced scientific fields.

Hyderabad: Prof. T. P. Radhakrishnan, Emeritus Professor in the School of Chemistry, has been selected for the DAE – Raja Ramanna Chair, a prestigious national scheme instituted by the Department of Atomic Energy. The tenure of the Chair is for three years, availed at the University of Hyderabad, starting January 1.

Prof. Radhakrishnan has been a faculty member in the School of Chemistry since 1989. He has mentored research students at various levels, in the broad domains of physical and materials chemistry, and made significant contributions to the areas of molecular functional materials and nanocomposite thin films.


The prestigious DAE-Raja Ramanna Chair (DAE-RRC) is a national-level scheme by India’s Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) to utilize the expertise of retired, accomplished scientists, engineers, and technologists for advanced R&D in atomic energy-related fields as well as basic research, awarded as a 3-year position recognizing significant contributions to areas like materials science, sensors, and quantum physics, benefiting national laboratories and universities.
