Prof Tirupati Rao appointed Chancellor of Manipur University

Hyderabad: Educationist and former Vice-Chancellor of the Osmania University, Prof. T Tirupati Rao has been appointed as the Chancellor of Manipur University, a central university.
An order to this effect was issued by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, on Wednesday. He has been appointed for a term of five years.
“President of India in his capacity as the Visitor of Manipur University, under the powers conferred under Statute 1 of the Manipur University, Act, 2005 has been pleased to appoint Prof. T Tirupati Rao, former Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University as the Chancellor of Manipur University for a term of five years” read an order copy sent to the registrar of Manipur University.
Prof. Rao was the Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University from 2008-2011 and dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, OU from 2011-13.
