Hyderabad: Progress, a US-based IT company, is expanding its operations in Hyderabad. The company has over 200-member team in the city, with 40 new jobs added in 2021 so far, and 30 more to join. The company has opened a new office in Aurobindo Realty’s building and remains focused on R&D and innovation to bring new products and solutions.
With the products of Progress, organisations can accelerate the creation and delivery of strategic business applications, automate the process by which apps are configured, deployed, and scaled, and make critical data and content more accessible and secure. Over 1,700 independent software vendors, more than 1,00,000 enterprises, and about three-million developers rely on the company to power their applications.
Prasanna Anireddy, senior director, Core Products, Progress, told Telangana Today in an exclusive interview, “Majority of our revenues come from other software vendors who serve different verticals through their ERP products for companies in BFSI, food, electrical and other wide-ranging sectors. Through our data connectivity products, we cater to over 140 ISPs today. We have six million plus business users that use applications built on Progress technologies, across the world. Our focus remains on how we can empower developers to build applications required for their end customers. We continue to invest in R&D and acquisitions.”
“We have R&D centres in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. They remain our strategic innovation hubs. Our Hyderabad centre develops technologies for application development, database management, data connectivity and we are expanding into network and infrastructure monitoring. Our 125-member Bengaluru centre is working on stacks on DevOps and DevSecops,” she added.
The company looks to continue to invest in expanding data connectivity capabilities to meet big data, SaaS and other needs with a focus on high availability, security and compliance needs without adding overhead costs for customers. The company has also been helping in customers’ multi-step application modernisation at low cost.
She said, Progress has been taking up several initiatives towards technology upskilling of its employees and mentoring. The company has also ensured women leadership and networking opportunities. Scholarships have also been offered to women in STEM in the US, India, and Bulgaria.
When asked about the company’s growth plans and strategy for next one year, she said, “We will continue to expand our base in Hyderabad in software and product development as well as customer support. We would want to provide opportunities to aspiring talent to work on cutting-edge technologies. We will also continue to support organisations in digital transformation, going forward.”
