Nalgonda: Devarakonda MLA and TRS district president Ramavath Ravindra Kumar Naik on Saturday underlined the need for protection of environment to create healthy atmosphere.

Speaking at an awareness programme on waste management, which was organised in the office of Devarakonda Municipality as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav, Ravindra Kumar said that the State government has taken up multiple measures to minimise all types of pollution and to create healthy atmosphere in urban and rural areas. In addition to better drainage system, dumping yards were setup at all towns and villages in the state under Pattana Pragatthi and Palle Pragathi programmes. The people should also cooperate for implementation of plastic carry bags in the municipalities.

He reminded that safe drinking water was being supplying to every house under Mission Bhagiratha. Clean atmosphere and safe drinking water would play a key role in protection of public health, he added. Stating that Devarakonda municipality would be developed as a model town, he informed that a model dumping yard would be developed in six acres in the municipality.
