Protest in Medak after Gandhi statue vandalised

Unidentified persons allegedly threw cattle dung on the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Ramdas Junction in Medak. Congress leaders staged a rasta roko demanding action. Police are examining CCTV footage and said stern action will be taken against those responsible.

Medak: Unidentified persons allegedly threw cattle dung on the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Ramdas Junction in Medak town on Wednesday.

Congress leaders who noticed the incident staged a rasta roko, blocking the main road and demanding action against those responsible. Congress leaders, including Chairperson Radhika, Naresh Goud, Chanderpal and Balakrishna, along with others, took part in the protest wearing black scarves.


They demanded that the police identify those responsible and take action against them.

Meanwhile, town police said they were examining CCTV footage in the area to identify the miscreants. Police said stern action would be taken against those involved.
