Protesters release pigs into homes of land fraud accused in Telangana’s Adilabad
Nearly 100 community members from Peddapalli protested alleged land fraud by releasing pigs into the homes of five accused property agents in Batwanpalli village, Adilabad. Victims claim fake documents were used to sell land, but no police case has yet been filed
Adilabad: In a dramatic protest, nearly 100 members of a community from Peddapalli released pigs into the houses of five persons accused of duping them by selling land with fake ownership documents at Batwanpalli village in Bellampalli mandal on Monday.
The protesters said they deliberately targeted the houses of property agents Ramtenki Harikrishna and Shiva, demanding justice. They alleged that Harikrishna, Shiva, Mondi from Bheemini, Bolishetti Bheemaiah of Mancherial, and Lagishetti Satyanarayana of Chinnabudha village cheated them into buying land at Achulapur village for Rs 45 lakh.
The victims realised they were defrauded after the accused repeatedly delayed registration of the land, citing trivial reasons, and eventually stopped responding to phone calls. In retaliation, they reportedly held Bheemaiah captive while pressing for justice.
The aggrieved members alleged that the five men used fake passbooks to sell the land and pocketed the money. However, no police case had been registered against the accused till Monday evening.
