Adilabad: A private employee and his aide were arrested for allegedly duping public with promises of providing jobs in Forest department and posing as an IFoS officer, here on Monday. Police also seized Rs 3 lakh cash, computers, printers and two mobile phones from him.

Briefing the media after the arrests, in-charge Superintendent of Police M Rajesh Chandra said the accused were Parache Mohan (29), a resident of Sopan Muthnoor in Gudihathnoor mandal and Serla Narsaiah (45), an employee of computer centre in Nirmal. In the course of interrogation, Mohan admitted to committing the crime to make a quick buck and to lead a luxurious life with help from Narsaiah. He confessed to deceiving seven unemployed persons from Gudihathnoor and Indervelli mandals, promising them jobs in the Forest department after collecting Rs 8 lakh from them.

He also confessed that he had produced fake appointment orders which were given to the candidates. He revealed that he was touring rural parts of the district by cab, posing as Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer for quite a long time, and targeting jobless youngsters.

The SP said Mohan’s game was exposed when one of the victims, Jadav Dinesh, approached Gudihathnoor police when he was not allowed to report to the office of the Forest department in 2019 and subsequently, a case was registered and investigations taken up. He commended Echoda Inspector Y Ramesh Babu for arresting the accused.

Rajesh Chandra patted Gudihathnoor Sub-Inspector L Praveen, Neradigonda SI Bharath Suman, CCS Inspector E Chandramouli, ASI Syed Tajuddin and their team members for nabbing the cheaters.
