Pumping into Mallanna Sagar increased to 7,500 cusecs

Irrigation officials increased pumping into Mallanna Sagar, running six pumps to divert 7,500 cusecs from Ranganayaka Sagar. The reservoir, holding 11 TMC ft against a capacity of 50 TMC ft, is expected to store 30 TMC ft this year.

Siddipet: The irrigation officials have increased the pumping into Mallanna Sagar on Thursday night. They have started operating 6 pumps out of eight to pump 7,500 cusecs of water from Ranganayaka Sagar. Beginning with two pumps on August 19, they have increased the pumps to six .

The project had 11 TMCft of water against its full capacity of 50 TMCft. DEE, Mallanna Sagar, Chennu Srinivas said that they had plans to improve the storage to 30 TMCft this year. Meanwhile, the pumping into Anantha Sagar, Ranganayaka Sagar and Kondapochamma Sagar was also being continued.
