Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has come forward to provide around 500 CCTV cameras to Khammam police commissionerate.

CCTV cameras would be installed across the police commissionerate to increase surveillance and to maintain law and order in an effective manner, said a statement from the minister here on Monday.

Ajay Kumar informed that Lakaram tank bund was under surveillance as many 64 modern CCTV cameras were installed at a cost of Rs. 20 lakhs and they were inaugurated on Sunday.

The number of visitors to Lakaram tank bund, where parks, open gyms and walking tracks have been developed, have increased in recent past. With the objective of ensuring the safety of visitors, the CCTV cameras were installed.
