Hyderabad: Former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s statue would be unveiled in Atlanta during the last week of April. All arrangements were being made to this effect, said PV Centenary Celebrations Committee member Mahesh Bigala.
Already two to three locations have been inspected for installation of the former prime minister’s statue. Arrangements were being made to transport the statue to America next week, he said while participating in a preparatory meeting on Monday.
Representatives of different organisations expressed happiness over the decision to install the first statue of the former Prime Minister in Atlanta. They also thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and the PV Centenary Committee for taking the decision to this effect.
Apart from PV Narasimha Rao’s family members, eminent personalities from Telangana and elected representatives from US would be invited for the statue unveiling ceremony, he added.
